"Don't give up! I believe in you all! A person's a person, no matter how small!" - Dr. Seuss, from Horton Hears a Who! (1954)
It is an honour and a privilege to work, learn and play on the traditional, shared, unceded territory of the Secwepemc and Ktunaxa people, and the land the Métis have chosen as their home.
We are blessed to have so many opportunities to learn on and from this place which is so rich in culture, history and resources. We believe in providing children with opportunities to develop skills, knowledge, and understanding through arts, culture, athletics, outdoor experiences and academics.
We strive to be a welcoming, caring and joyful space. We are excited to embark on a new path to become a Leader In Me school for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond. Leader in Me provides a framework to enhance our school culture and foster an environment of student empowerment, leadership and well-being. The Leader in Me framework provides resources for teachers, students and families as we all work together toward the best possible outcomes for each and every student in our care.
I am so fortunate to work with a dedicated, professional, thoughtful staff, incredible students, supportive families and a helpful community! Please feel free to contact me at any time for a chat about what's happening at Laird. I strive to always have my door open.
